VaxAlta Inc. receives support from Government of Canada for research and development in poultry vaccines
EDMONTON, (June 7, 2016) – VaxAlta Inc. (“VaxAlta”) is pleased to announce that it has received a non-repayable contribution, in addition to technical and business advisory services, from the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP). The funding will support job creation in Alberta and the development and optimization of livestock vaccines.
“This project will help us develop effective vaccines against common bacterial pathogens in commercial chickens that can have tremendous negative human health impacts as well as financial consequences in the poultry industry,” states Dr. Christine Szymanski, President & CEO of VaxAlta, a leading vaccine research and development company based in Edmonton. “We want to thank NRC-IRAP for their support on this project that will yield both human health and economic benefits to Canada.”
