NRC Covid-19 Challenges
The National Research Council Canada is offering the opportunity for life sciences companies to register for both Challenge programs detailed below:
NRC COVID-19 Challenge Program
Current models for market-driven and academically driven research and development often overlook technology developments for sporadic and emerging diseases like COVID-19.
The NRC's new COVID-19 Challenge Program will bring together a national network of researchers and scientific facilities to address pressing needs and challenges. The COVID-19 Challenge Program, composed of teams of government, academic, and private-sector partners will address a range of medium-term Public Health Agency of Canada and Health Canada needs, including:
- personal protective equipment
- sanitization
- diagnostics and testing
- therapeutics
- disease-tracking technology
Academic and government researchers, and private-sector firms interested in learning more about the program as it develops should register for more information and updates on this Challenge Program.
NRC Industrial Research Assistance Program
NRC IRAP will build on its existing relationships with thousands of Canada's most innovative small and medium-sized businesses to expedite technology development for the COVID-19 innovation response, and the new NRC COVID-19 Challenge Program.
NRC IRAP will work with its federal partners to challenge the marketplace for innovative solutions to the topics mentioned above. NRC IRAP will fund promising projects, or bring promising solutions for procurement into Innovative Solutions Canada.
Companies with promising technology relevant to COVID-19 challenges are encouraged to register their technology or product.
