The Value of Value
One of the things I’m reminded of daily is that “value” is different for each of us. Every member we meet with has different needs and accesses different benefits. Members also see different relevance in each of our advocacy initiatives. This fact reinforces to our team that not only is BioAlberta a diverse, broad-based membership, but that value is perceived, not calculated.
It’s been a few years since we asked you: “What does BioAlberta do that you value?” During that time, you and your involvement in the innovation ecosystem has most likely changed, just as BioAlberta has had to adjust and adapt how we communicate and engage with each other to accommodate a most precious commodity, our members time.
As we periodically examine what our teams do and why we do it, it was apparent that now is an opportune time to reach out broadly to our members and supporters to ask that all important question: “How can BioAlberta increase the value you place on your membership with us?”
In the coming weeks, you will receive an invitation to our 2020 Member Engagement Survey. We really want your feedback on the work we currently do, and your thoughts on what we could be doing differently. We will also seek answers to which benefits do you use most, and what other benefits are you looking for from your membership?
Of course, we will also explore how and how often do you want to hear about BioAlberta and the life sciences community, what events are important to you, and what can we do to add more value to your involvement as part of our association. Once complete we will publish the survey results and how we plan to respond to your feedback.
Many of you have heard me say that active, engaged members make for a stronger BioAlberta. When you receive the survey please take a few minutes to respond back to us. The more feedback on what you want and need, makes it easier for us to deliver even greater value in your BioAlberta membership as we strive to meet your expectations. As always, your continued support and membership is most important. Thanks in advance for your participation, and we look forward to hearing from you in the upcoming 2020 Member Engagement Survey!
