CanBiocin Inc., a contract research microbiology services company and developer of innovative and socially beneficial lactic acid bacteria based products announced on January 23, 2015, that its Edmonton facility has received formal recognition from the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) for its compliance with the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Principles of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
GLP is a quality system concerned with the organizational processes and conditions under which health studies are planned, performed, monitored, recorded, archived, and reported. CanBiocin Inc. has the capacity to conduct a range of microbiological, molecular and tissue culture contract studies for clients in the health, food and environment industries.

Earning GLP (facility only) recognition from the SCC assures that CanBiocin Inc. has the appropriate infrastructure and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in place to run GLP compliant studies. This recognition is an important step for CanBiocin Inc. in providing excellent service to their clients. CanBiocin Inc. will apply to earn full GLP certification.
