Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) is pleased to be launching Round 2 of the Alberta-Ontario Innovation Program in partnership with Alberta Innovates Technology Futures (AITF) and the Governments of Alberta and Ontario.

This program supports inter-provincial industry-academic projects focussed on solving challenges facing key industries in both provinces. Funded by AITF and OCE, the program will leverage contributions from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and industry partners.

The program is valued at up to $12 million in total, and supports academic institutions and businesses in both provinces to collaborate in the development and commercialization of innovative products and services. It will support innovation in the priority areas of advanced materials and manufacturing, energy and environment (including water), nanotechnology, agriculture, forestry, advanced health technologies, life sciences, biotechnology, information, communications technology and digital media.

The projects and partnerships will support companies from all sectors through collaborations with publicly funded research centres and academic research institutions (i.e., universities, colleges and research hospitals) in both provinces
.
This is an exciting opportunity for academic institutions and companies to participate in this unique collaboration between Alberta and Ontario.

Expressions of Interest will be accepted until February 13, 2015. More information on this program, including full guidelines and application criteria, is available at www.oce-ontario.org/albertaontario or contact an OCE Business Development Manager.
