The Boosting Biotech initiative is a collaboration of BioAlberta, Innovative Medicines Canada, the Alberta Government, and Western Economic Diversification to support innovation and commercialization of discoveries by Alberta researchers and small and medium sized enterprises in the life sciences sector through experiential learning opportunities.

BioAlberta's Boosting Biotech Internship program for the Summer 2021 term (May 3 – August 23) is now open. This program helps match skilled Alberta students enrolled in an under-graduate, graduate or post-graduate degree programs, to support the  operational needs of Alberta companies with up to a total of $10,000 in wage subsidies cost-shared between Innovative Medicines Canada and the BioTalent Canada SWPP Program.

Twenty-two students are currently working in Alberta companies as a result of the Boosting Biotech Internship winter intake.

Spots are limited for the 16-week Boosting Biotech Internship Summer Intake - apply by March 10, 2021.

If you think the Boosting Biotech Internship can help you move a made-in-Alberta discovery or product forward, and you are willing to provide a student with practical work in a field related to their studies within Alberta’s life sciences eco-system, please contact Trish@bioalberta.com for details on how to apply.

Help a student gain a better understanding of important life science work being undertaken in Alberta. Thank you for your interest in helping grow student talent and building a strong mentorship culture across the life sciences sector in Alberta.
