Policy Committee Details

BioAlberta works with policymakers at all levels to promote coordinated approach to setting public policy initiatives and ensure life science industries critical issues are well represented. BioAlberta Government Relations Committee predominantly focuses on legislative and regulatory policy at the provincial level; however, it does work with partner life science organizations across the country to ensure that federal regulatory issues are also supported. Priority activities include coverage of critical legislation & regulatory policy, educating public officials about biotechnology, engendering a supportive research policy, encouraging greater support for life science entrepreneurship, and simplifying the regulatory environment, among other issues. Our Government Relations Committee is divided into subcommittees to answer the unique needs of each of the life science subsectors.
